What it's all about
I have always been captivated by dancer's and what they can do. So what better way to indulge my obsession and start a Project that celebrates just how amazing they are. So the Kal Dance Project was born. 12 months with a different theme each month using our gorgeous Kalgoorlie Goldfields dancers as models. The themes can be anything at all and I am sure will test my creativity once the obvious themes have been explored.
I welcome any suggestions of themes that you would like to see us try. Although I am just a girl and her camera without a lot of fancy equipment (a girl can dream!) we will give it a red hot go!
The themes are announced for the following month on the first of the month before on my Facebook and Instagram pages.
Besties!
The theme chosen for December 2021 was Besties. I had the ever lovely Katelyn and Lily (from previous months) and the absolutely adorable besties Brooklyn and Indyah. I had the hill climb of death up to Karlkurla Bushland Park Lookout for Katelyn and Lily's session. Nothing for these gorgeous boss babes who can do one handed hand stands! but for my very unfit out of shape (unless you consider round a shape!) mum bod dragging my wagon with what felt like a mountain of gear behind me it felt like torture. I am so glad the girls didn't have to watch me huff and puff my way up and have to lie down for a rest when I got to the top. Perhaps a not so gentle reminder that maybe I should do more cardio? Brookie and Indy had me laughing when they hammed it up for my "Bogan Ballerina" request mid shoot and brought the goods for some amazing shots at sunset with some incredible backlighting.
