February - The month of love...
This month I decided to show some love to the people behind the scenes. You know the ones... they come in early and go home late doing all the nitty gritty things that keep the studio running from choreography, to cleaning, sorting and ordering stock, props/backdrops, accounts, training and everything in between. It's very easy to look at an amazing pic of a dancer doing something spectacular but we can sometimes forget that although that dancer has worked their butt off to be able to do that pose or move they first had to learn it from someone. So this time instead of the dancer we want to celebrate the teachers and staff who toil away to make you guys the best dancers that you can become!
MT Dance was founded by Miss Belinda and Miss Cassie who wanted originally to start a little project and run a few dance classes prior to their final maternity leave to keep themselves busy but when enrolment day arrived they had over 300 students to commence their very first year and all this with 5 children under 5 between them!!! - Can you say incredible! It's not easy to get anything done with young children but these super women are nailing it!
Kalgoorlie Dance Academy was founded in 2006 by Miss Sharon who has spent many years making sure that dancers in Kalgoorlie have the opportunity to realize their dreams. Miss Sharon is now taking a small step back and has handed over the reigns to Miss Shenae. Like mother like daughter! You will still see Miss Sharon around the studio as she helps out along with all the other amazing teachers.
With the help of some superstar staff both of these fabulous Dance Studios are providing their dancers with a safe, nurturing, fun and challenging dance environment. With emphasis on classes run by fully qualified professional teachers putting dancer safety and longevity at the forefront of training. Whilst teaching is a big part of it there is also so much more that goes on behind the scenes and all staff, helpers and volunteers deserve so much love from the dance community for all they do even if I couldn't capture a shot of everyone.
So the next time that you see a dancer doing something incredible just give a little thought and love to those who helped them become the amazing dancer that they are.
